Help Feed The Poor Families In India
Emergency Covid-19 Food Appeal
India has now reached 3rd in the list of worst-hit country with Corona Virus, it has already crossed 1.5 Million cases and 34,000 deaths. The numbers have been increases every day, there are so much insecurity and fear among people.
Not only people are dying due to disease, but many are dying due to severe hunger.
Many companies have shut down their doors and waiting for the lockdown to be lifted and some business who are open are out of customers. Not only software giants, retail and construction industries have also been effected where millions of daily wagers used to work.
Most of these labourers, now out of work and without any income, may not get any opportunities to earn or support their family. There is no work and no money to feed their families.
More than 12 million people have already lost jobs due to pandemic and according to experts 10 Million more people will be pushed under the poverty line of $3.2, and the aftermath can last up to 18 months.
If this continues over the long term, then millions of families who work every day will go hungry and die out of hunger.
If you live in Australia, it’s hard to imagine the suffering of these families. Here, even in the worst-case scenario, people don’t suffer from food shortages or hunger and we know that no matter what happens, we won’t leave our children without food. Here, $5 is a small amount of money for us, but it’s what a daily wager earns less than this after a day’s work in a third world country.
Crescent Relief in partnership with the ELIF, has launched a campaign to provide daily wagers with the food packages they need to protect their children and families from hunger and death.
Although we are far from our homeland, we have the opportunity to be a sign of hope for those who suffer in darkness and despair. It is our religious and moral duty to our country.
Give away as many food parcels as possible to alleviate their suffering!
