Crescent Relief is a volunteer-based Charity which is supported by individuals and community organisations. Being a non-political, non-governmental and non-profit organization, We are committed to the service of humanity to contribute towards their well-being of health, education, livelihood, availability of clean water and other aspects of life.
Crescent Relief is working in different countries with the help of its partners. Our main focus areas are Africa and Asia.
All of our programs are funded by the community donations. Government Funds could be helpful to further the cause but we have not applied for any assistance yet.
Funds are spent to build infrastructure, sustainable development and benefit the poor through our health, education, orphan care and humanitarian programs, and through increasing public awareness of international aid and development issues.
Your Zakat is “Amanah” to us which will only be used for Zakat eligible projects. Usually, we spend Zakat money on orphans and widows. This year, we are starting a new project "Feed The Poor" where we will provide monthly ration to the poor (Zakat eligible) families. According to Islamic principles, Zakat can only be spent on the following areas: 1. The poor 2. The destitute 3. Zakat administrators. 4. President, General Secretary and Board of Directors do not receive any wages for carrying out their duties. Only the expenses which are incurred on behalf of the Crescent Relief are reimbursed.
Crescent Relief is obeyed by its constitution which defines standards of governance, management, financial control and reporting and identifies mechanisms to ensure accountability in the use of public monies.
